4 Reasons Why a Pre-Wedding Photo-shoot is the Hottest Trend
Does ‘Pre-wedding photo shoot’ seem to be the latest buzz word amongst all your soon-to-be bride friends? Are you still wondering if there exists such a thing and if it does, why you should be doing it? Then let me tell you that there exists something called a pre-wedding photo shoot where the couple gets their pictures shot in ideally an outdoor location by a professional candid photographer. These pictures are later used in a variety of ways in their wedding album and as a part of their home decor. Apart from these, some of the better reasons for you to be getting a pre-wedding photo shoot done are to:
- Get comfortable in front of the camera
Get rid of your camera nerves. Wedding is not the time for tense smiles and uneasy poses. I’ve had countless people in front of my camera and I can sense how people literally transform the moment a camera is pointed at them. Some become comical, some freeze up with nervousness and some are really brilliant. Most couples are not sure what they are supposed to do in front of a camera. A pre-shoot can help you become comfortable with your better-half in front of the camera. Wedding photographers can also get a feel of what to expect on the wedding day.
- Build a rapport with your wedding photographer
Getting a photo-shoot session with your photographer prior to the wedding can help you build a rapport with him. Even after several conversations, I know how unsure couples can be about the kind of photographs they want. What better way than having a trial run! After all, marriage is once-in-a-lifetime event, Time your time, talk to your photographer and plan out some fun and thematic shots. You can refer to these photos to decide what types of images you want on your wedding day.
- Get a hair and makeup trial
A pre-wedding shoot is a great way to experiment with your hair-do and make-up. You’ll get to see what looks good in pictures and get that perfect look for your wedding.
I would recommend you to get your pre-wedding shoot done at least a couple of months before your wedding date because this will give you enough time to get these images post-processed and use them as a part of your wedding invites. You could even use some of the really candid pictures amongst these at your wedding reception to entertain your guests. (Coz let’s face it, by the end of a long wedding everyone needs a little entertainment at their friends’ expense!)
