You’ve already read Step 1 about choosing the style of wedding photography you want, Step 2 about shortlisting your best matched wedding photographer, and Step 3 about planning and organizing. Now here’s Step 4 in the 5 part series on how to get the perfect wedding photographs from your perfect wedding photographer.
4. D-Day
It’s your wedding day and you’re already stressed as it is. You don’t want your aunt to come and complain to you that some guy is taking pictures of your shoes or that their son is an amateur photographer (his NRI uncle bought him a DSLR) and he doesn’t think the photographer is doing a good job. You don’t need that! Try to keep your near and dear ones informed about that you’ve hired a candid photographer and this is what they do and it’s perfectly normal. If your relatives are tech-savvy consider sending them a link to your candid wedding photographer’s website (wink wink) so they can see the final product of all the work that goes into this. Trust your photographer (he/she’s gone through a rigorous selection process, remember!). Make sure your star candid photographer has visited the location beforehand or at least has an idea of the area so they can plan according to the lighting available. Make sure your photographers are well fed. Some photographers prefer to get their own food. The rest prefer to eat quickly before the guests arrive so that they can get into position well in time. So if you see your photographer and his assistants dashing for the buffet, don’t panic! They’re just doing their job. Relax, be yourself, and just enjoy your moment in the spotlight! The bigger your smile, the better the photographs.
