You’ve already read Step 1 about choosing the style of wedding photography you want, and Step 2 about shortlisting your best matched wedding photographer. Now here’s Step 3 in the 5 part series on how to get the perfect wedding photographs from your perfect wedding photographer.
3. The 3 P’s.
Once you’ve chosen your wedding photographer, never forget the 3 P’s: Planning, Planning, and (you guessed it) Planning. Make sure the wedding photographer you’ve hired is aware of every single event that is planned during the wedding. Tell them about all the important shots you wish to be included. Want a picture with your favourite grandpa? Tell the photographer to note it down. Want a picture with your nephews and neices using your spouse as monkey bars? Tell the photographer to note it down. Want a picture with your uncle’s finger up his nose (oh every family has an uncle like this)? Tell the photographer to note that down, too! Candid wedding photographers will definitely appreciate all the details possible when they’re on location and shooting pictures. Professional wedding photographers usually have a formal or informal contract you can go over which details what you can expect from them and what is expected from you. Discuss the timeline for delivery of photos and reach an agreement so that there is no room for confusion (see step 5 for more information). Remember: No detail is small enough to ignore.
